[00:01]                                    The industrial talk podcast go big in just six minutes a day, building a legacy of success in a rapidly changing industrial market.

[00:10]                                    Alright, I'm ready to go. Big. My sleeves are rolled up. I'm ready to get hit it. So let's get going. We're going to be talking about personal development and the strategies that I use that you can use to as well to a personally develop yourself, so let's get going. One of the things that we talked about yesterday and that was a finding a mentor, but you just can't sit there and let that meant to continue to feed you, right? It's important that you take the proactive approach and find information and feed and personally develop your skills, your abilities, your insight, your knowledge, all of the things that are really important to your success. Now I know as well as I do so many of you know, you just graduate and that's it. You're done. You stop learning. It's like me, I'm working out. All of a sudden I'm working out, you know, a year at a time and then I just stop and expect that, that I was not going to change.

[01:05]                                    The same thing exists for you. You must and I mean you must continue to personally develop your insights, your knowledge, your wisdom so that you can continue on this path and the, and the information is available. So this is what I do, right? This is what I do now. First off, because I'm in podcasting, I get the fortunate opportunity to listen to podcasts all the time as well as you can, but I also get the interviews too as well. So one listened to podcast. Find those podcasts that feed you. Uh, I'm not looking for podcasts that are about a kittens running around and playing with a fuzzball no, I am talking about a podcast that truly impact you in a positive way. So one, I always listened to podcasts when I work out, when I'm on a, on the road, I do it all the time and I find a podcast that are specific and beneficial to me.

[02:03]                                    Okay. That's one podcast too. I go to a news aggregator, I use feedly, f e e d l y, feedly, and I type in all of the subject matter that I am interested in and that that congregate or that you know, that a aggregator, a tool will provide all of the, the articles and things out there and what I do every day and I mean you got to do this every day. Every day I sit there and I'll fire through and read and I will look at articles that are specific to let's say manufacturing, industrial sales, business development, leadership, whatever it might be, things that are there, it is available and that is feedly and there are other news aggregators out there, so go out there, find a news aggregator and do some reading on a daily basis on a daily basis. Now I always use books on tape.

[03:00]                                    It's, it's easy as Kim be finding books on tape, so if I'm not listening to podcasts while I'm on the road, I am listening to a book on tape on a specific topic that is interesting to me and, and what makes books on tape. So great as a fact that maybe I just need to skip through a particular chapter and get to another chapter. So once again, I am personally develop mean me and, and knowledge that I, I'm proactively doing that. So, and then, um, fortunately for me, I get to interview great people within the industrial space and they constantly feed me with great information there. It just is my network of individuals. My, let's say mentors are fantastic because I'm fortunate enough to be able to have this industrial talk and you have this industrial talks so listen to these interviews because they are also great.

[03:51]                                    So might be dry, so might not be so dry. But the bottom line is that the information is phenomenal. Okay. So that's, that's it. And um, I always use kindle. Boy, I'll tell you, man, Amazon makes it so easy to get a book. So what I do is I listened to people. Boom. I think, oh right. I want that book, download it. Kindles are inexpensive and if you have prime, if you have prime, some of them are free, but many of them are just phenomenal reads. And then you can continue to refer back to them. What you're doing is creating that knowledge base. So when you're working with your mentor on success, you are also feeding yourself with information from people all over the world who have gone down that road from one who, you know, for whatever. Right. Okay. So I challenge you. My challenge to me this year is to retool books per month.

[04:45]                                    Not a big challenge, but it's a big challenge for me. So I read two books per month, but that's in addition to all of the feedly stuff, my news aggregator, my podcasts, my books on tape. So there's no reason. And I mean there's no reason if you truly want to go big in 2019, you've got to develop personally developed your skill sets. There is no other way of putting it. So you could go out there and there's no excuse. Quite frankly, there's no excuse because every. I don't know, I, I, I think that there's all the information in the world is out there. All you do, I have to just sorta put it in your search engine and boom, there it is. So once again, what we're talking about podcasting, news aggregators like feedly, books on tape, interviews, listened to them, you know, I get interviews, listen to the industrial talk interviews and kindle. You're, there is no reason

[05:42]                                    why you shouldn't be personally developed. It is a, it's an exercise each and every day and I really appreciate what you guys are doing out there. Be Safe as well and I'm always thinking about you reach out to me now. I've got stuff out there. Go to the industrial talk podcast, a website, and boom, you're good to go. We've got information out there. Reach out. So thank you very much. Be Safe and I'll talk to you tomorrow.
