Some key points from David's conversation at IoTSWC:

Simulation is a powerful tool that can be used to make better decisions about the places we live and work.

However, simulation can be expensive and complex, which limits its use to large organizations.

Newer simulation platforms are making it easier and more affordable for small businesses and cities to use simulation.

These platforms use data from a variety of sources to create realistic simulations that can help users make better decisions.

One important aspect of simulation is engaging with the people who will be affected by the decisions that are made.

This can be done by using simple and easy-to-understand platforms, as well as by getting input from people who live in the area.

Simulation is a powerful tool that can be used to improve the places we live and work.

Here are some specific examples of how simulation is being used to make better decisions:

A city in the UK used simulation to help them plan for Net Zero. They were able to use data on traffic, energy use, and other factors to determine the best way to reduce emissions.

A small business in the UK used simulation to help them decide when to open their shop. They were able to see how traffic patterns and weather conditions would affect customer flow.

A charity in Africa used simulation to help them determine the best way to provide clean water to farmers. They were able to see how different types of water treatment would affect crop yields.

These are just a few examples of how simulation is being used to make better decisions. As simulation platforms become more affordable and easy to use, we can expect to see even more innovative applications of this technology.

In the hot seat. We have a gentleman by the name of Matt Wilson. I butchered his name. And you're saying to yourself, Scott, how can you put your man Wilson's name? Well, I did. And it was somebody else's name. So that's his name. Anyway,

01:08

I'll answer to Michael mark. Matt, whatever you want to call me. You? Yeah,

01:12

SimVentions is the company. So let's get cracking. Great. Yeah. Sim mentions. I like simulation conversations.

01:20

Yes. They're like artificial conversations. They they approximate conversations, simulated conversations. And that well, people do online all the time these days. Pretty much. Yeah.

01:30

Wow. Look at you, man. Just get right into it.

01:33

You're absolutely right. And just offending everybody in the audience. Right. So

01:36

first conversation of Thursday, and he's right off the bat. But it's true. I just think every time I have the conversation about simulation and running simulations, and what however you do it, and being able to, to play in that. Just think it's cool. It's pretty neat. Give us the listeners and me, Matt Wilson, a little background on who you are

02:00

great. Well, I've been doing software development for 30 years or so. Doing a lot of work for the United States Navy and as a contractor for different defense sorts of things started out building software for the Aegis combat system. So I don't know what that is. But they gratulations big Navy ships, big Navy ships, thank you. And started getting involved doing the standards work related to trying to make those systems more open. So you're not just stuck with the way a certain vendor made it if I wanted to bring in capabilities from other vendors. Yeah. So the Navy brought me into the standards conversation about 20 years ago. So I've been doing software development and standards work for 20 years. And but now I'm getting, you know, some wisdom in my face here. So they don't let me write software anymore. I just, I just pontificate and the people

02:57

out there, chirpy chirp about all of this fun stuff? That's pretty cool, quite frankly, and you've been in the business for so many years, you've seen a lot of changes? I'll tell you that much.

03:07

Yeah, the irony is the more changes, the more it stays the same. So

03:11

why don't you expand upon that, because I have no idea what you mean by that, because I always see just changes and everything's just changing. And everybody's talking about new use cases. And using this tech.

03:23

People, people had the same problems today than we've had all along. So and the domain that got me here in the first place. You know, the Navy has been trying to open up their combat system to make things reusable for my entire career. So we've certainly made progress in that direction, but there's a lot more progress that can and should be made.

03:43

See my ears bleeding? I'm here, these conversations. I don't know how you guys handle it. I don't know, I'm not I'm not the gold standard by any stretch. I did stay at a Holiday Inn. And I heard Oh, no, no, go. But anyway. Okay, so you're here. OMG? Great. I mean, I've been very fascinated by just the process of how everybody sits there and debates and it has these great conversations

04:07

more patients than I do.

04:10

Trust me, it's, it's just been a fascinating observation. And then when he so when you guys leave, and then you're, then you come back for the q1 event, then then all this whole, you know, couple of months, and you guys just think more about it, and then it just never stops you guys got now we're supposed to be talking about and you're gonna have to, this is the dev sim ops event. This is 2023. Right? I don't even know what that is. So tell us

04:43

in that effort to open up the systems and build and deploy software and systems more rapidly. The industry basically if you do software development these days if you do modern software development these days you're probably doing some form of DevOps,

05:02

which is development operation. Yeah.

05:06

DevOps. So it's a pretty well coined term throughout software development, the industry. Hopefully most of the people reading this have read the Phoenix Project if you've not read the Phoenix Project.

05:16

Now, all of a sudden, I'm feeling Yes, I did. Yes, yeah, absolutely, I was gripped by the tail,

05:23

it's actually really interesting. It's not all geeky either. So they actually take a real story, that's cool. Well, it's a made up story, but it makes you understand what DevOps is about. So DevOps is pretty well established, there's, there's lots of vendors out there have DevOps pipelines, there's lots of tools in the space. And there's like, three, four, or five different main ways to do DevOps. And that's, that's the process of designing, building, creating, testing, and deploying software, using automated processes. And then to automatically deploy those software's into the production environment, and keep those running and updating. So if I realized, oh, this system needs an update, then I can very quickly do an update, run it through the development process, get it tested, and deploy it in real time. Well, the DoD is realized we really need to do, we need to embrace that more and more. And the way we develop software, instead of sitting down and thinking about getting all the requirements perfect before I do anything, and then spend three years building something, another two years testing it, and then finally delivering it to the fleet. There's there's desires and objectives out there, to do compile the combat and 24 hours. So it's, it's, it's a lofty goal. But if we're gonna get doable, you gotta do it. If we're gonna get anywhere close to that, we need to more thoroughly embrace DevOps in the in the DoD sector. But being DOD, you can't do it without security. It's got to be fully secure. It's got to be fully tested. So that's where they crammed the word SEC in the middle of DevOps. So that's why you got dev SEC sec. Security dev development, secure operations. Hey, go? Yeah, I'll see. See,

07:17

let me just put that down. It says my, so. So you just slipped in security in the middle of DevOps? That's what you did?

07:26

Yeah, I didn't, I didn't coined the phrase. No. Time, all of you out there doing it. I didn't. I'm not saying I coined this phrase.

07:37

Doesn't matter. So. So is this an event?

07:41

Yeah. So what we're trying to do as at the OMG, we tried to develop and create standards, to improve the state of practice, or provide consistency to the state of practice, and hopefully, enable interoperability and interchange of kinds of things. So I was talking earlier, you know, there are multiple major vendors of DEV SEC ops, tools and pipelines. But it's pretty much if I choose to go with with this vendors pipeline, I do a lot of work to configure the pipeline and get it working and get all the tools talking to one another and all the handoffs. But then my leadership says we can't afford to use that pipeline anymore. I want you to go and use this pipeline, because I've heard it's better. So all the work you did to set up this pipeline is now not compatible when I move over to this pipeline. So if we can start to look at an established technology standards to make it more consistent, if I need to move off of this vendors pipeline onto this vendors pipeline.

08:47

Okay. I have to I have to step in? Yes. Because I'm going to I, you know, what I have in my mind when you say pipeline, yeah, a pipeline? Yeah. Is that what you're talking about? Or what are you talking? Because I want to make sure this is clear, because I'm like, I've been out of a pipeline. In the field. There's a right away. Yeah. And there it is. There's not talking about it. Well,

09:10

it's the it's the coined term for the the process and the tools in the automated handoffs between each step in the process to get me from a an idea that I want to build to writing the code to do it to testing the code to getting it out the door and actually deploying it on to production. See, I

09:30

got that No, no, I'm all in good questions.

09:34

You should host like Lucia host interviews

09:40

with an idea because I like to be the, the not the sharpest guy in the room because I'm gonna ask that because I, I have all these interviews in my head and I'm going I'm like, I know what that is. Right there. That's an asset. I'm on the right away and we shut down all the plants. Exactly. But that's the truth. Yes, but I get I I understand the word pay If you're associated with DevOps and all of the steps that are in there, and you write if you, if you're down this and you're heading down this road, and you're making sure everything is connected, and you've got it from idea to actual operations over here, and then all of a sudden shipped over here. Yeah, that's not an easy

10:16

one. And your boss, or your leadership says, Well, you can't do it on this platform anymore, we need to move you over to this other pipeline. And all of that detailed, complicated work that you did get all the little pieces aligned. So it actually works. You got to, it's not complete redo, because you figured it out in one, but you got to re implement that in a totally different way on the other pipeline.

10:41

So so this, this 2023, Dev sim ops, or

10:45

SEC SEC ops,

10:49

company name, and I'm going oh,

10:50

my gosh, man, see here to throw you off.

10:53

Easy peasy to throw me off known. So this this dev SEC ops, focus standards, whatever the practice state, making it more efficient, making it more open. Right, yeah. And having those conversations around that effort. So that from my idea, to actual operations is compressed, right? Because you've got those standards there. And I can just like, okay, here.

11:23

Yep. And the standards will help. You know, it's a target rich environment. So let's say I'm a tool vendor, that's part of what my company does. We make novel tools, we do really cool and analytic things and stuff like that, if I make a software tool that can make a step in the pipeline better. If we have the standard in place, my tool will now work with, you know, I'm not going to name actual vendors, but vendor A's pipeline, vendor B's pipeline, piece pipeline, because because there's us clear technical definition of how do I get data out of the pipeline? Yeah. And how do I add value back to it? So that's one of the use cases, you know, that that's part of my motivation. So I got the broader motivation for everybody in general, but you know, standards are about business. See,

12:15

uh, now, I'm getting a clearer picture, oh, my gosh, I'm dangerous. No, I'm not dangerous. But I am getting, if you have standards that everybody sort of embrace and say, Yes, and and what happens here at OMG, where you get in a room, you actually physically get in a room and you begin to debate and you get to discuss and you develop these standards. But in light of that, with that competence, with that assurance that these standards have been thoroughly vetted, then it creates a greater likelihood that they can be used in other platforms, and therefore making the shift easier. And so And correct me if I'm wrong, if I'm a platform, platform person, I would want these standards so that it make it easier for people to use my platform. But then it also makes it easier for me to they leave my platform.

13:08

Oh, the irony there is, is, you know, perhaps some vendors might say, well, if I if I standardize, you know, people aren't going to be stuck in my platform. And, you know, yeah, it is. I think that but it's often the opposite happens, you know, so if I know that, that you conform and in comply with the standards, I'm more comfortable using your product, and I probably more likely to buy your product, because I know I'm not stuck with you. Not that, you know, it's a bad thing. You're no i But it gives me the confidence that if I ever needed to. I could move.

13:45

Yeah, but but it also gives me the competent that there's the one I got the standards, but to there is a level of scalability, right? I can stick with that platform, because I know that right there. They embrace the standards, whatever it might be, right. And it's open. And so it doesn't sort of then it doesn't just sort of pigeonhole me into one way. And I don't want to think about that. It just gives me the greatest flexibility. And it seems that that there's a beauty and simplicity to a certain extent. I'm not saying that standards are simple by no means right. I'm just saying that it's a it's a good thing that they are applied. And I can feel confident in that. Exactly.

14:27

Exactly. So what we're trying to do with this, this event in March 2023,

14:34

also Q this is q one,

14:37

technology OMG technical meeting in March in q1. Yeah. So that'll be in Reston, Virginia, in Virginia. Yeah. We're trying to bring together kind of the thought leaders in the people do this for a living and the people who are really struggling with the problems of not having the standards. We're trying to bring everybody together into one room. I'm going to have a conversation because it is a target rich environment. If you think about just the handful of steps I've described to you, yeah, we could, we could come up with a standard that's, you know, 20,000 pages long and doesn't help anybody. Yeah. So we want to start that conversation and say, How can a standards body like the LMG come alongside and bring you into this conversation? Because it's a coalition of the willing who define the standards. We want to draw people into the conversation, to actually start working on the pieces of the puzzle that will add the most value to this marketplace, see,

15:37

and this, this goes across all the consortiums. Once you have that standard, whatever that conversation is, it impacts you know, digital twin, and then everybody absolutely responsible computing, you name it, and it does, right. So if somebody's listening to this, and they say, Yeah, that sounds like a pretty cool thing. Can Can I? How do they how do they

16:02

participate? Yeah, so there's a few different ways. OMG is actually working to do all the marketing and promotion and get all that information out there. But they're certainly welcome to try to reach out to me. So my email is just Matt Wilson at Sim ventures.com. And please don't spam me if you're not actually interested in you're just trying to sell me something. I'm not buying it. Yeah, I hear what you're saying. But we've got some really good thought leaders and customers in this area. So we're looking at the perspective of drivers and thought leaders in this space, as well as from the buyers perspective, why did they need it? We're trying to get developers in the conversation because they're the ones who are suffering with the problem. And in want you to show up and join helping us solve this problem. It's not something I'm not smart enough to solve this. I need you guys to come and help us actually set the standards of

16:54

this spirit of collaboration. And I do I think he gets those results are are absolutely stellar. Of course, I can't participate in the conversation by Friday.

17:08

It would be awesome in that conversation.

17:11

Thank you very much. Join our pain at Wilson make me feel better, everybody. Big time.

You're changing lives, therefore, you're changing communities and you're changing the world. We celebrate you onto this platform each and every day in the hot seat. We have a gentleman by the name of Gan Wang, Dassault Systemes. I'm gonna I'm gonna put you in a bit of messy you can see that it's all good. And we're gonna be talking a lot about stripping, you just need to stay tuned, because this guy understands let's get cracking. See, see? How do you say the company's name?

01:26

The hassles

01:29

Dassault. And then

01:33

Wang, Wang. Working for Dassault Systemes

01:37

working for there it is summed it up just in a great way. So with that said, give us a little background into who you are. Oh, wow. And dazzle people don't don't don't let them down because you are a dazzling individual. Oh.

01:57

Thank you, first of all, thank you for inviting me. And it gave me this opportunity. This, you know, so excited to be here. Yeah.

02:05

Now now seeing it again, we have this conversation all the time. And it's it's a debate. It's really about me and my learning and the listeners learning, and you are the hero. So you know what that take that and run with it. Yeah, that cape. So, background their account? Yes.

02:22

So like I said, I'm going along, working for Dassault systems. So if they had to practice with you. So So my role is a the focal point with the liaison between Dassault systems in the systems community, including orangey or object management. So so as a part of my job, a sort of gauge the strategic alliance between OMG initiatives and our own strategy and the coordinate our resources and efforts to support LMT initiatives and and task forces. Right. But most of all, yeah, go ahead. Yeah. You know, I want to be a good representative company to brand companies capabilities.

03:21

And you definitely don't let anybody down. That's for doggone Sure. Because you are definitely not doing that. All right, Dassault systems. Let's just help the listener understand who they are what, what is, yeah, so

03:34

decile systems, is a software company. But as a technology solution provider, right through is the 3d experience platform, we have end to end solutions for digital engineering, product design, architecture, manufacturing, for the entire system lifecycle. So this is the environment we provide to our customers, so that they can create digital twin and create a wonderful solutions with our platform.

04:09

So so if I was a, who are your customers, like not, I don't want names. I just want to know who would be coming to Dassault systemes. Yeah,

04:19

so I had to look it up. Right? We have amazingly, I was floored over 300,000 corporate customers. Oh, no way. Exactly. And they are from 11 different industries. over some, like over 130 different countries. Oh, just amazing. So so far, we've been in business Oh, since early 80s 80s. Right. And and you know, everything that you see and you feel in your life, you know, whether you fly you drive you live chances are the price barracks with the environment. It was built and designed, built by our solutions. Yeah, it's as amazing. I had to study it up myself.

05:11

Wow. See, that's it's, that's what makes this opportunity to talk to people is this this is the aha moments like, I didn't know that. So but, but if I was a, I'll come to you. I'm Dassault, I'm Scott Mackenzie, I need to go to Dassault, because I have this idea. I have this, I need I have this idea of a system. Is that how it starts? What? How did that, um, just helped me understand the interaction between the customer and Dassault?

05:40

Great, right. So so so our engagement with our customers, just like you said, interactive, right. So we're part of the, their life and the part hours, right from the very start from the their business model, their company strategy, from their product strategy, we're very much engaged, right? So we're not like, you know, in a transactional relationship, I need x, therefore I provide x, but we're part of you the customer, right? We understand your technology roadmap, you product offerings, so we then strive on the hardest to provide the right kind of solution to enable you for your products and services.

06:30

I'm glad. I'm glad that's the case. Because I mean, I wouldn't even know where to begin. I mean, and hit always blows my mind. The other thing that blows my mind, and that's why you're here, you're the liaison that represents Dassault is, is that a lot of what you're talking about, of course, require some sort of standards, it's, it's It can't just go off like the wild west over here, you've got to be able to sort of have some standards and saying this is how we approach it. This is what makes it different. What? And because we've have OMG, but you're a part of other what, Congress or what consortium, are you a part of? Right? Don't call them committees don't. Stephens gonna go? Don't do? What part of that what Consortium? Are you?

07:21

Yes, so so a part of the OMG, the standard development organization, we've been there for many years, close to 20 years. We're also part of the Digital Twin Consortium. This is the consortium dedicated for to development, and deployment and adoption, digital twin technology. We're also part of something called an area augmented reality for enterprise our lines. This is about the immersive technology, which will have some expertise in and trying to help to promote that adoption of that technology.

08:00

See, I was having a conversation. It was when we start talking about augmented reality with digital twin we this is this is really fascinating stuff. And it is requires because it's I can't is it, it's still relatively new. Yes. So you still have to begin to debate what those standards need to be in line. So you're speaking here, what are you speaking on?

08:28

So So yes, yes, I thank you for mentioning that.

08:32

It's right there. SPEAKER And it's in red and gray.

08:36

Right? I was asked to to present it at the plenary of tomorrow. So I'm going to talk about something called the Virtual twin. And this is a companion concept to digital twin, which represents, essentially, a technology will methodology that using the virtual representation that real to really simulate and predict and experience the real in the virtual environment is all about experience. Right? It's about what you can, as a driver or rider in a car would experience today or in the future that you haven't experienced in a virtual environment without up in the car.

09:25

Okay. Okay. So what we have is you have a, what do you call virtual twin? Yes. You popped in simulation so you can, I can, and I'm trying to create a very simple use case, you pulled up a car, so I'm in a car, but it's a virtual car. And then I can then experience sort of that simulation in that car or whatever it might be, but I have to go and then I can change it because it is a simulation. I can just, well what about this one? What about changing it this way? Or whatever it? Is that got all a part of it? Yes.

10:04

Yes, absolutely. It's all part of it. Right. So, so you think about, you know, the transportation industry is really going through a transformation. Right? Right, it is no longer about cars were driving, you know, you think about, if you just close your eyes, imagine where it's coming, where has come from the last decades, right? And to where it's going. It's no longer about driving. It's about mobility, how you actually, you know, commute or transport from point A to point B in a environment by which is defined by your own preference, how you want to enjoy the ride, right? And if you want to drive or you do want to be driven, and if you're driven in an autonomous mode, what would you do? Why don't you write that journal? Right? And can we imagine something that's unimaginable? Right? Can we do 10? We come a fly, maybe not, but that we can try it. You know, if you want to try that in the real car, you might get into trouble, but not in the virtual environment.

11:21

See, this is this is what makes this organization there's so few organizations with all these individuals. So amazing, because it's not just the fact that you're coming up with your, it's that it's the dreaming and then putting it into reality. You're just like, Okay, we're going over to this bar. We're going to have some drinks here, but we're going to talk about some stuff and be able to sort of really dream in that sense. That's just, that's just amazing. Yeah. So here's my dream. To do a podcast in a self-driving car. Uh huh. Virtually Yes. He's like, Yeah, absolutely. I'll check it

11:59

out. I absolutely. You know, you know, you know, how about come to Paris, come to our Tesla headquarters will sit you in that environment? Yeah. Yeah. And you can do a podcast from there. Right? Yeah. And then and say, Hey, what about this? What about that? Seriously? Yes. You know, we can simulate through all different kinds of real-world scenarios, some real, some imagined, but that's fine. And that's how you push the boundary of techno.

12:34

You're amazing. That's just amazing stuff. Yeah, I just my so so you're going to be talking about that. Your Board of Directors, I see that two

12:47

of what have OMG. The company that the body that? Oh, gotcha, gotcha that manages all the consortium in Korean OMG, the standard development organization.

13:02

Okay, I got that. I just saw that. But now I'm moving on again. So here we are, we're getting to creating a virtual, well, virtual twin. You're creating simulations, but then you can take that simulation and then put it into reality. It's like, it's like, okay, we've, we've tested, we've used all of the simulation tools and whatever, and then we can put it in. It works. Let's do it. Right. And then that's where, then that's a whole another level of Well, yeah, I mean, you got it here. You're saying That's right. There's, there's a cost effectiveness. Like if I can simulate it over here and get it all tweaked? And

13:43

correctly, then yes, absolutely. You hit it right on the head, right. So why do we do this? Why we do this, right. As you know, we talked about early on your iPhone is small, but it's so complex is so complex, not anybody, not everybody can do it, right? Only one company that can do it. Right. But that is just a case in point of the world we live in today. Everything's getting so complex. Right? So complex. Yeah. And so so you know, the product development cycle getting long, longer. And it gets a lot more expensive today, right? So applying the virtual twin technology would actually, you know, reduce the cost. And when you actually build it, you have a higher level of confidence, you're actually doing it right, you're actually doing the right thing in the first place. Right. And then with the reduce costs, and most importantly, reduce cycle time, so you don't turn right you can actually deliver the capability in the users hands much sooner. Not only that, once they have it, you can in real time to get the real experience there. Aida back to the virtual world. Continuously upgrade, improve that experience, and tighten that cycle of improvement.

15:09

See that? Look at me. I'm on duty. Now. See what was interesting because I had this conversation with somebody. And I said, it's just getting more complex, just in general, just just the world what you guys talk about here, what you're addressing, it's just, sometimes it's overwhelming. It's a it's so complex, you see it, you've seen it. But just the the principles or the concepts behind simulation and being able to do it and tweaking it there. And that, to me, is a brilliant approach to a complex type of world. I just think it's amazing. It was just like an epiphany. It's like, yeah, I get it. Yeah.

15:50

It absolutely, absolutely. I mean, and I think, what are we going to, it's going to be a combination of a real versus cost, plus virtual, we're going to live in there. Not only as a designer, but the end user, right? Yeah. And today, you have a lot of virtual reality, technology, or life already, without noticing that, right. And so I, you know, I'm not, you know, I'm the predictor. You know, I don't have this, you know, with all of these conferences, but I was saying that the virtual component in our lives is going to become the more without us knowing.

16:30

So here's the funny thing. It's not funny. So our son has a VR goggles, right? And I'm gone. What is it? Right, what? So what? And he had this driving, right, just a driving game? And I know, it's beyond that. But it's, it was just so immersive. It is, it's like you can truly create, and there's some, there's some pushback, there's some people saying, is that good for you? Okay, that's, that's way beyond my paygrade however, but the reality is, is that there's that ability to be able to truly simulate something, get it home did, and then put it into a sort of a real, I just think it's brilliant.

17:15

Right? Right. It's just to think about it. If you drive me the real car, and somehow you have avatar in the virtual world and guide you through an enriching experience. Now we're talking about actually using a product actually experience the environment, you have this virtual environment. So it's not only limited to the design and build phase, it is really in the operational in your user experiences. And, you know, the potential respondents, right, so, you know, it makes us all feel like, wow,

17:53

don't you want to be younger, I want to be young.

17:55

I know, I want to relive this life.

17:57

I just, it's sort of interesting, because the technology is available to make it happen. And even that, just the the ability that the computing capability is just getting better and better. And being able to do this is just to help support these endeavors. Yeah,

18:15

exactly. With the cloud and Azure computing, you don't even know you don't you don't even know what happened, but you don't care. Do you? Know, you want your experience?

18:26

Yeah, that's exactly correct. And putting on the old hat, and it was just like, when you got these systems today in the cloud that that improvements just happened. It's like, hey, check that up. That's better. Just just merely go about the business and it's okay, that's better.

18:43

That's better. I like it. That's better. That's right. Yeah. Amazing how things work together on a small piece of real estate right here.

18:57

We just did it. Maybe it's just me, but I am always amazed at that. That has just happened. Yes. Just does. You're amazing. Gan. Well, no. I'm the professional. People get a hold. Oh,

19:16

yes. It's very easy. Yes. My first name Gan.Wang@3ds.com.

19:29

Check it out. I got it. I'm looking at your cart. You're a doctor too.

19:34

Thank you very much,

19:35

doctor. You were absolutely spectacular. We could have had this conversation going on and on and on. And I'm gonna take you up on the Paris trip. Yes. You don't go away. We're gonna be right back. All right, listeners. We're going to wrap it up. I'm going to have all of the contact information for gone out on industrial talk, you know that you got to reach out to this guy. He will blow your mind. Like you can Mind. It's exciting. All right, we're gonna be right back. Stay tuned.

20:05

You're listening to the industrial talk Podcast Network.

20:11

Two words mind blowing. Gan wants to hustle systems. You got to check them out. I mean, this is amazing stuff. I mean, these individuals like Gan, Team Dassault, and others at OMG. And I see at all of those consortiums, they're thinking through the solutions, they're, they're solving problems. They're putting little guardrails around it because you need to have standards associated with this rapidly changing technology, industrial technology world, you just have to and you need individuals like Gan and others to help you on that journey. That was fantastic. Also, you need to consider, do omg.org Look at what they have to offer. Participate be a part of the growing network of really insightful professionals, which is doing amazing things. My mind always goes kaboom, kaboom. All right, we're gonna have a lot more so there's there's gone and others are happening at OMG and, and IIC. And then all of the consortiums, they're going to be more coming from this particular quarterly meeting. So stay tuned,

21:29

you're not going away.

Oh, yes. My name. My complete name is hilarious. I'm the CTO of Aingura IIoT. And my gut. My background is mainly mechanical engineer. And I have a PhD in artificial intelligence. So from there, we have started eight years ago, this line of applying artificial intelligence to the industry. So we are moving on that, on that on that line. And, and that's how we are bringing things real things to real life.

03:16

So, so forgive me, I didn't call you doctor Javier. Because the card that I have is that you scribbled on Javier on somebody else's business card. So next time

03:26

I run out of run out.

03:34

Yeah, it is. That's a good yeah. That's that's a whole nother debate. That's for sure. Are you just starting?

03:49

All right, Dr. Carlos. Just call me Carlos. Yeah. Okay. I'll tell you, Carlos. Just like my notes. Well, it's on your card right there. And I figure Okay, yeah. Well,

04:01

I mean, it was on for business. Right. That's right. People just upon right. So let's

04:07

Carlos Toro. Yeah.

04:11

Well, okay. I'm also a mechanical engineer, right, by my definition, right? Difficult mechanical engineer who transform into a machine learning specialist. So I did my PhD on machine learning, right? Um, that's kind of interesting, because it allows me to see both sides of the story, right. But the physical thing is, I understand that right? Because I was there in the shop floor. Right. But then to try to understand how the computer we're modeling, right, that's the other side of story. And this is what we're bringing here. Right? So I'm currently working in the company which is Research Center and our office space in the Basque Country. Beautiful, beautiful place.

04:48

Did you say the

04:53

Basque museum

04:54

my wife as well. She's Basque family was Basque. Oh, yeah. Whoa, oh, yeah. Oh, cool. So we're gonna have to get Yeah, I'm telling you.

05:04

Yeah, well, it's coming from my contract.

05:07

It is it is kind of interesting because the region is so vivid, so much industry, so much research, right is very, very interesting. And, well, 20 years ago, they found it, some of election and the TV broadcasting, television broadcasting quality, they funded research center to do all things related to this conversation and computer science. Back in the day, you will never call it machine learning or artificial intelligence, somehow. Now we're doing it now. We call it the right way. Right. And this 20 years, we've been supporting the industry from the research perspective, right, helping them to understand the problems trying to solve their problems to some sort, given some technology, here and there. Working with companies like Agoura to develop technologies with them as well. And it's been it's been it's been quite a road, right. Quite quite quite a row.

06:09

Okay, so I like it. You can tell they get they have stray Hey, there goes my wife, Basque. We're doing a podcast now. But we're doing a podcast right now. We're recording as we speak, but I had to tell you that he's from he's the bass. She's taken a picture of us. So what was interesting that built hop and brought up is that you guys you have there's there's this there's this real solution that exists out there today that are solving problems and delivering value. Yep. And, and you've created that sort of environment that, that platform that whatever you want to tap that bed over here, Javier, give us a little background on what that is?

06:57

Yes, I'm actually I will start with wilderness monastery that is interesting. Our name Angra angora is a buzzword for uncle. So we are, we are trying to bring all these technologies that we have around all these things, artificial intelligence, connectivity, edge computing, we are trying to, like bring it down to the real edge genetics, from our, let's say, from our ad ADM, from the company to our parent companies, they are mainly industry. So all of us are working in really huge industrial environments. So we understand and we are able and because we are, let's say our background is more mechanical or more the people inside the team or let's say traditional engineering, disciplines, that you can find in, in, in an industrial environment, we are able to understand and to bring those technologies to let's say all these those technologies that are on academic papers, or I don't know, in ideal situations, we are trying to bring them down, change them as decided in order to provide to the end user what they need. They don't need a machine of the IoT machine or industrial industry that further though machine they need a machine that has a high availability, or they have high quality or, or other needs. So we use we use use all these tools together in order to solve those specific,

08:28

specific Yeah, I would imagine I need a machine that doesn't create a headache for me if I'm a manufacturer, and I want it simple. And I want to be able to say, okay, if I'm pretty simple in my needs, I've got a problem. I want a solution. And I want inside so I can make sure that that problem is managed properly. Carlos. So how does that how does that fit in with what you guys are doing?

08:52

Well, actually, that's quite interesting, right? Because when we started doing this, we were looking at, okay, what is the digital? Right? Yeah, what is the definition of a digital picture? And how can we can build something so anybody can understand something very simple, because you can use digital twins for many things, right? Complex, right? So we came up with the story, right? storyline, that storyline that this does, it doesn't necessarily has to be something that you will find this is not a product that we're selling, right? It's something that will showcase our capabilities. Our collective is something that is showcasing things that we have done to these many years doing research and to be shown in in a very, let's say, manageable way, very controlled way, but that can deliver this and this is this is what we are bringing here to the world to Congress rice is basically a pick and place no where a robot will pick one element from conveyor belt and he will show it to the camera. But up to that point that is a real thing. That is something that you may find in many, many industry facilities, right? But when we have extended that, which is with the augmented reality approach where you just wear your Oculus glasses, you are somewhere in the world, right? And you are remotely controlling the robot, right, you're doing the visual inspection, right? Then you can rotate, you can move around your ears, you can actually get closer to it, and then you will value, right. So we deliver all everything, all the technologies, all the physics that have to be in a model, all the communication that needs to happen from the from the PLC is etc, etc, to the virtual model. And also, he put in that technology that they were has for energy consumption. So we are giving the information about the energy consumption at every single point in time of the cell. So the person somewhere in the world doing the verification, the remote verification process can actually know how effective is how green is his, his operation, right? Which is very important for the carbon footprint, right? Yeah. And this This is, a lot of technologies are out there, right? Like, for instance, when we were doing the communication, right, you can wire right. But of course, we want it to have it in a wireless approach, right? Because theoretically speaking, the person doing the verification is going to be somewhere in the world. Right. So we were testing some 5g technologies in our center, and say, why not? This just use 5g? Why?

11:30

Because Absolutely, why? Why not? Why? Why complicate things? Right? Yeah. Why say? Yeah, we can do 5g, and we can hardwire and we can just just put the connectivity and just say 5g, that's it, we're done.

11:42

It was a little bit late. So when we call the first like, Okay, we want to we want to put the 5g Amateur transmitter out there, and we want to do 5g There. Right? And they were like, Sorry, do you need permission from the government to do that? Then we said, Okay, we will get it. And we got it. Because we are partnering with, with some companies in the qualification work that they have bands. So Massimo will give us their, their their band for three days. Here, we are using their bands here, right now. It's in these these things are amazing, because all these companies are helping us right to deliver the message, right? And showcasing that these technologies are here, right? And it's not difficult for you to apply those technologies, if you know how to do where to do on which buttons to be pressed. Right? And it's about the trip, it's about the road, it's about how to do it.

12:37

Do you think that, you know, we all understand the bad side of COVID, we all understand. But I think the good side of COVID accelerated a lot of the conversation here, it's like, hey, we need it. We need to have that business to be able to be resilient or whatever, I can't get out there because of whatever reasons, but I need to still look at that. And I and I, like I said, the good side is the fact that it accelerated on us. And those conversations, were less human and hot, and more. We need it. What do we do? We're ready to go. Even if it's going to be painful.

13:15

Yeah, it's like, just the other day I saw these these mean, on the overhead who dropped the digital transformation of your company. COVID-19 Yeah, that's true. Yeah. Because it was a nice to have right and now it's a must have.

13:32

I gotta tell you, I I agree with you 100% Now, hobby or what do we have out on your the floor here? What is the what's the model what are we doing? What if I went up to your your booth What can I do? Well, and

13:47

let's say nothing our growth we have an integration of different technologies that are making this possible. And we are trying to mimic real applications actually is just an I like to say like that is it says more model of a larger deployment doesn't have at least in some in some levels in in a real airport. In a baggage inspection system, where we are able to well in this in this in this model, we are able to mimic all their conveyor belts and part of the say interesting and and really easy to to find it for example, in industrial environments, conveyor belts are everywhere in an industrial plant. So we have a small and a small version of it. And from it, we are trying to extract all the interesting things that we have all the technologies that between decom tech and ankura Manage really good. So, we are we are seeing from from that scenario, we are extracting data that is able just to do some analysis related with energy consumption, with maintenance, but we also have other types of datas. We have a robot that is doing some manipulation of it. Were able to have fun Measurement about quality. And it's, of course, quality is related to the, to the inspection, as you are able to manipulate manipulation of that system of that of that element, you're able to, to inspect, and you're able to do some, let's say, reject the PC, if it is, if it's not, okay. And in, let's say, a really simple, okay knock a system that you might find in an industry. But of course, with this integration on a high level, other digital, where you are able to just integrate all this information, all this data is coming from your system. And the human in the loop is able to take decisions related to all those different environments, the human is able to introduce in that in that in that in that world, in the digital twin unable to see the piece that you are manipulating the decide on this quality, but also you are able in the same place, you are able to decide on the energy consumption or in the maintenance of your of your system. Let's say that that's my my my point of view from the let's say, industrial park, but maybe Carlos is able to give us a little bit more insights on that on that system.

16:18

The question I have, and we're going to venture into that, but the question I have to and along with all the other bad things with pandemic, I think that there was also a an accelerated need to collaborate. And that these technologies, these insights is this ability to be able to create innovative solutions. Because of that, then all of a sudden, you know, Javier and Carlos are talking together, and they're saying, Hey, we can, and there's that collaborative approach to solve a bigger problem or whatever it might be. That to me is that there's this compounding effect that exists with this technology, as well as this, this recognition to be collaborative, right? Of course, you don't have all the answers. Yeah, that's natural. That's it? That's right. Yeah. So how do you deal with that? And I have to ask, how did you guys come to know each other? If that is the way that it's like, you know, you're over here doing your thing? You're over here doing this thing? What how did you guys come to?

17:20

Well, first of all, maybe

17:22

you want to tell the story, but I will just give a summary. We are coming from the same city. And we have really common interests. And of course, we are in different companies. But the similar interests that we have just pushes us to work in this way. There is a little bit it's a little bit tricky, as we have actually like a personal relation. But from the point of view of companies, we combine perfectly on the technologies, if they're speaking about digital twins, or about all this beautiful modeling and all of this, you know, no, we done so. And we can just compliment each other on that. Yeah, I

18:05

like to think that you you will meet people that is meant for for for you right in the roadway. And even in our in our business problems, right. We come from the same city, but we never met. Right? See, that's just until we start working together. Right? I was looking at research, how he was recently joined a company, but we were working on with we were we were actually visiting a customer for a project, how it was, I guess, I guess your first project, then we realized that we were actually coming from the same city that we were married to Basque women, and that we had some kind of things. And, yeah,

18:49

that's how it is. If you want to close deals, that is where it happened. Yeah, that's that's the that's the bottom line. So as we we wrap this up a little bit. This is to you, Carlos, where do you where do you see it going? This is just This is just the tip of the iceberg? Oh, yeah. I mean, this this, this technology, the solution? This is just, this is just beginning stuff. For us. This

19:13

is a starting point. Just historically, we've been thinking about things that we will build surrounding this test, but Right. In fact, in the DPC, right, but also to include more components, right? To make it more appealing to demonstrate more technologies, right. And by no means this is ready. I mean, this is just the initial, the starting point of what can be in the future. Right.

19:41

I'll tell you, that's a whole nother conversation of just for me, just, I don't circle around the watercooler like you guys and you're talking about hey, did you know what we could do this now check this out. This is new. I was reading here. This is good. We got to talk. I don't do that. Let's say I'm just, I'm a manufacturer, I have challenges. And I'm just looking for a solution, right? And I think that it's important to be able to simplify the message and the value proposition so that I want to do it without the headaches and uncork it. And I think you guys are just, you guys are just nailed it. And again, I'm gonna go over to your booth, and I'm going to see that augmented reality. And I'm going to play around it because Phil Hoffman said I needed to and by the way, he's, he's up next and he's stuck at my wife, my wife with best heritage. Oh, all right. How do they get a hold of you, Javier? How do they if somebody says Javier was speaking my language, how do I get a hold of Javier?

20:42

How do we get on the phone? It was difficult. Because

20:47

you got this lousy business card that you read, wrote on somebody else's business card. So what's your what's your email address?

20:54

My email address is JD s at Angular iot.com.

20:58

Very good. And Carlos, how did they get a hold of you? Oh,

21:01

you can follow us in our network. We can support my email, see Dora that contact dot o RG. But I think it's not going to be very difficult to find out.

21:14

Well, because you know why you're gonna be out on industrial talk and I'm gonna have a backlink to everything. And so listeners, you want to get a hold of them go to industrial talk.com Or just listen to what they said. And you just sort of reach out to them and and you will not be disappointed. Absolutely. stellar job hobby or, or hobby. Hobby. Bolts are doctors that don't want to be called doctors. Alright, listeners, we once again are broadcasting live from IoT solutions World Congress, Barcelona is the country. No, Barcelona is the town. How dare I say country? Anyway, you need to put this on the market unless you get to meet great people like Hobie and Carlos, they are in it to solve problems and make your life a better. Big time. Big better. All right. We're gonna wrap it up on the other side. So stay tuned, we will be right back. You're listening to the industrial talk Podcast Network. All right, once again, that is Javier. That is Carlos. They're talking about AI for industry. They're talking about digital twin. They're talking about simulation. They're also even talking about augmented reality. All on this particular interview. It was fantastic. All right, you can tell. I'm pretty passionate. I'm very bullish about the IoT solutions World Congress and your participation. You get to connect with people like Carlos. People like Javier and companies that are truly focused on solving problems and have a desire to educate, collaborate, and of course, innovate. That is a must put that on your calendar, we're going to have a lot more, we're going to have a lot more conversations coming from this event. And then of course, we're going to be there at the end of January. And if you're, here's a it's got out how to get on this industrial talk. Well, we'll be there too, as well. So you just look us up. All right. Be bold, be brave, dare greatly hang out with Javier and Carlos and you know what? You will be changing the world. That is why we celebrate you on this platform because you are doing incredible work. Thank you once again for joining. And we're gonna once again have another great conversation shortly. So stay tuned.

So put on your hard hat, grab your work boots, and let's go

01:36

Alright, once again, thank you very much for joining industrial talk on ever expanding platform ecosystem that is solely dedicated to celebrating you industrial professionals all around the world. You know why? Because you're cool. I have more to that. But you're just you're doing things. You're solving problems. You're making the world a better place. You're collaborating, you're doing everything that you can to make this world a better place. This is for you this platform. Definitely. All right. We still have great content coming from this year's IoT solutions World Congress and in the hot seat as Michel, more bad. And you know what we're talking about? digital twin simulation solutions. Let's get cracking. Yeah, it never ends. The innovation never ends. And Michel just knocks it out of the park. He is the co founder of Cosmo Tech. About that. That's a cool name, right? Anyway, we were in Barcelona once again, and had these great conversation, Michel. And you know what's interesting, what struck me is just really sort of an aha, it might not you but for me, because I'm sort of simple when it comes to this stuff. I love this. I love the topic around simulation. I love the fact that if you have the ability to be able to use AI, analytics, pull it all together, run simulations, create greater confidence in whatever that outcome is. I think it's just great. And I think everybody is definitely on that bandwagon. So that's cool. Michel, where he's gonna be talking about that. All right. Get out your calendars. Okay, I'm looking at this. I'm looking at IoT Solutions World Congress. It is January 31. To February 2, 2023, right around the corner, right? If I'm looking off in the desert, if you see me on the video, I'm looking off to the distance not that far away. And I go on the website there. IoT solutions world congress.com. And it says game changing Technologies. Yes. From industry trends. For industry transformation. Absolutely. Industry IoT. Yeah. Artificial Intelligence. Yeah. digital twins. Yeah, edge. Yes. Augmented reality, 5g cybersecurity. What else is there? I don't know. But there is some more stuff out there. You need to put this one on your calendar. And as you can tell, I'm a little raspy. I had a cold. Can you believe it? I had a cold. But I survived. And I'm on the backside of that cold. So sorry about the gravelly voice. But anyway, really? This this conversation with Michel at IoT solutions World Congress, really great. Cosmo Tech, simulation digital twin. It's all on the conversation today. So join it. Kevin a good conference. Michel.

04:37

Yes. Great. I'm digging it.

04:41

We're gonna go to a bar tonight. Just a bar. We're gonna go to a bar tonight. Of course. Why wouldn't we have a couple of gin and tonics? Yes. So it's a great, that's a great option. Sure. All right, for the listeners out there and talk to us a little bit about your background. Michel, and then we're gonna get into COSMOTE So what that's all about and then we're going to talk about what? What solutions are being provided.

05:04

Well, my background in in a nutshell, I used to be for many years now, in the past the university professor, I was a specialist of complex systems math, computer science. Hello,

05:15

are you a doctor? Doctor, I see have to see this card. If you're out there. This is the card he has right there. Right there. It's a sticky note. And there's no doctor. So you're a doctor good. I

05:29

used to be a processor. So you know, and, and so and then I developed, you know, Technology, my lab and I decided to bring it from academia to the real world. And that was what we call today's 360 degree simulation.

05:48

Cosmo Tech, you rattled off something that's an acronym, an acronym for something, what does it mean?

05:54

Sure. Oh, Cosmo means complex systems modeling. Say,

05:59

there it is. It's pretty good. Yeah. And you got the URL Cosmo Tech, because nobody had that. That's, that's a good one. So with that, give us a little sort of a definition of digital twin. And then let's get into the simulation component. If that's good, give us a what is a digital twin?

06:17

Sure. But digital digital twin is a digital replica of a system. Originally, it was a digital replica of physical objects. But now we are doing digital twins of systems of organizations. And by the way, that's why we use the word 360 degrees to say that we take, you know, and we present the systems, and we connect to the data in real time. And oh,

06:42

so, you know, everybody uses digital twin, I have a digital twin of my building, I have a digital twin of my substation, and so on and so forth. But what you're doing is you're sort of holistically looking at the whole, you know, whatever the business itself, it says,

06:59

exactly, we don't only look at the at the physical system, the physical parts, but also to all the interactions, the processes, the people who work with the system, what they do, and how they interact with the system.

07:15

So take us through what that looks like. I'm a company. I've got the I'm, I'm interested in digital twin, or I'm, I'm using a digital twin. Take us through that process.

07:27

Well assume that you have a supply chain to manage. And you know that there is a lot of uncertainty. And now more and more complexity in your supply chain. And you want to make that's

07:40

that's an understatement. And in fact, this pandemic, everybody's a supply chain expert.

07:45

Oh, that's right. And you have the problem is what you have to do with the supply chain, you have to reconcile things that seem to be completely impossible to reconcile. So you want to increase the profit, you want to be resilient, at the same time you want to reduce cost and reduce the co2 emissions. That's your problem, right? And all that changes all the time. So what do you need for being able to manage this and make the best possible decisions? You need to have three things? The first thing is what happened in the past? What can I learn from data from the past? The second thing is what is currently happening, you're looking at data from the present. But the most important thing you need is to have access to data from the future, what is going to happen? If I do this? What if what is going to happen if I do that, and what we do with digital twin, we create the replica, we link it to you know the data, and we have the ability and that's the simulation plant to simulate it to see what is going to happen in the future so that you can test 100,000 futures to find the one you want and the resulting one.

08:54

Do you want that future? Look, you have to load the data, some data, you have to load some historical data in some way to paint a possible picture in the future. And then do you? Does the simulation allow you to learn or what help us?

09:13

That's a very that's a very good question. Because we can use data from the past and we do. But what is very important in what we do is that what we put in the digital twin is the knowledge of the different experts. We don't only rely on data from the past, but we are in a system industry or system. You have experts who know very well what is happening on your live production line. What is happening with the robots, what is happening with logistics, what is happening with when people come to work, are they in three eight shifts or do the work? So this knowledge, we put the knowledge and we make the links with the knowledge and because we have all these? Once we have that we just have to connect to the state the current state of the system, and what do we do? We simulate So based on the knowledge, we can add knowledge that we have learned from data from the past, right? But there is the knowledge that comes from the brain of people. And it's

10:11

so deep. So this is cool. This is cool. And as you run multiple simulations, you're putting in different different type of data, different type of parameters, whatever it might be. And then you're is there. Is there a time frame of into the future? Like, can can the future be a year? Can the future be two years? What is sort of that ideal sort of future state?

10:41

There is no ideal we go from 15 minutes to 40 years, depending on the use case. 15 minutes? Yeah, we're doing definitely are sure. We Yeah, for example, assume that you have just a line, a production line. And you you're connected to the data, and you know that you, you're going to make a decision. And you have to go as fast as possible to make this decision. Because you see, for example, that a machine, the product productivity of a machine is dropping. So what is going to be the impact of this drop on your production, right? So you very rapidly simulate, just to know what's going to happen. And once you know that, what you do, you say, here is what I can do here is the different view of the different options. And now I'm going to simulate all these options to make the best possible decision. We do that timescale. And we do that up to 40 years, when we manage very, very big assets and equipments, for example, for maintenance and renewal.

11:44

Yeah, because the life expectancy of some assets are like, like, when I was in a tank farm, right? Those tank farms last like 40 5060, or whatever, whatever the life expenses, you got to run.

11:59

Yeah, exactly. And for example, that's what we do. Mr. Big electric networks. Yes. Electric net? Yes. That's a great example. Yeah. And we are, for example, we have full digital twin of all the high voltage, I mean, transmission, electric utility of France, the whole country, 1 million assets, 4 million interactions. And we have all the teams with where they are their skills, their cost. And every year, the company of T spends 800 million for maintenance. And when you go down that road, yeah, you're absolutely right. And now they're running simulations all the time to find the best decision, because there are a lot of cascading effects. If you delay an investment, this is going to you're going to have more outages on this, then you're going to run the teams there. But the team will not be available to do something else. And maybe you can have a cascading effect. So yeah, do you do you

12:56

got a couple of questions? Do you simulate the need for the workforce to be educated? Like there's a challenge today that there is a future skill requirement? And if I don't do it here, I'm not gonna get it there. Sure. And by

13:21

the way, we are doing that very, very concrete example. The same the same problem than the one I described on the electric grid. Yeah, we you have that in factories, because you have robots, you have fleets of robots, and they're obsolescence. So they, they lost, and they they age, and at the moment, they don't work anymore. So you have to decide to replace them by new ones. But then I have to train the people to be able to manage these years, when am I going to train the people when I trade them, they are not productive. So it has an impact. So you have to optimize all the things. And that's what we do with the simulation digital twin, so different times, but then

13:58

again, at 360, that's where you have to a lot of people are sort of siloed in their digital twin approach or look, do you also in that utility analogy, upload historical maintenance records. And so you'll know that this transformer had the oil changed out and whatever it is, or it's X amount of years old, and that type

14:24

of an exec. So we have that for each equipment, depending on the utility, some have all the data, some other loans, if they have we can from that learn from this data to create a model of each equipment when they don't. We have general equations that are known from this business, and that we can use and then we do that for 1 million asset. And we put all that together, and then we can run these simulations and create value from it.

14:52

So the question I have is, it's like a, again, it's a tsunami of of simulated data. Now how do I, how do I sit there and sort of swim through that. And, and be efficient at that. And now, my, you know, assessment,

15:13

two answers to that. One, the first one is when you create and when you deploy the simulation digital twin, you start by the problem you want to solve. And that is going to tell you what you're going to look at in the simulation. So we provide a huge amount of data to have from the future. That's data from the future. And that's not only one future, it can be hundreds of future depending on what you do and the way you manage it. And this, the first way is you start by knowing what are the KPIs I'm interested in? And these are the one with the platform we're going to show you that's the first answer. But the second answer I would say, is, probably is very, very interesting. Because all these data are what we call synthetic data, there are data generated by the by the twin, right by the simulation. And you know that one, what you can do with this data, you can you can use AI algorithms to be trained with these data, right. And then you can learn from the data you produce about the system, you have. And you can use these tools to find the best course of action when it's too complex. So that we have, I would say AI at the beginning, when you say for example, to get the data for a given asset, and being to learn when this asset with AI or you know, neural networks can upstream us that you put that in the model, you put the knowledge of experts, then you run simulations, and you use AI to learn from the results of the simulation.

16:45

I am a big fan of simulations. I can't put my arm around the level of complexity that you're talking about. I mean, that's if you're looking at just utilities alone. I mean, that's just as it's mind boggling.

17:00

Sure. And by the way, remember the it's complex systems modeling very, and the very important thing is complexity is you, you always want to get rid of complexity, because you say, Oh, if I touch here, it's going to have an impact there. But now assume that you want to have an impact there. And that you have the possibility to know that you just have to touch here, by cascading effect to obtain at very cheap cost, the impact you want. That's the future. See? And that's the President

17:31

says, Well, I gotta tell you, man, I've enjoyed this conversation. It I hate to call it short, but it was too short. How do people get a hold of your Michel? If they want to get a hold of you? How did they get? How do they

17:47

contact you? Oh, they go to our website? Because we'll take that. Very, very simple.

17:52

There it is. Yeah. Thank you. Thank you for your patience. By the way, I really enjoyed the fact that you waited around. That was a good time.

18:00

It was great time. And now the tapas and the gears right.

18:03

genotoxic. Okay. I'll amp it up. Alright, listeners, thank you very much for joining industrial talk by once again, we are broadcasting from the IoT solutions, World Congress, Barcelona is the town. And as you can tell, it's getting close to the evening. And that means it is Janet Donek time. But this has been a great event. Michel, thank you. Thank you so much. All right, listeners, we're gonna wrap it up on the other side. So do not go away. We will be right back.

18:32

You're listening to the industrial talk Podcast Network.

18:38

Hey, as always, thank you very much for joining industrial talk. And thank you for your support. And kudos to our friend Michel bore van, co founder and executive chair, Cosmo Tech, knocking out of the park. You know, you get it's all out on industrial talk.com. Let's just let's just lay it out there, you need to contact this Gent. It's out on industrial talk.com. So make that a priority. Again, put this on your calendar, we're talking about IoT solutions World Congress, we're talking the end of January, January 31 2023. To February the second, that is going to be a barnburner of a great conversation and great conference. Just because you need to know about this stuff. You need to know about IoT, IoT industry IoT, you need to know about artificial intelligence, you need to know about all the stuff that was going to be talked about and collaborate with people who have answers or looking for answers. They're ready to collaborate. It's all out there IoT solutions. World Congress make that a point ours also you gotta go out to industrial talk have already said that. But you got to go out there. We've got a just an on demand on demand, webinar, podcast, whatever industry webinars on demand And what we have is industrial revenue growth series. Now there's five part series. And we really, it's the first one, we're going to be working to improve it. But the reality is, is that we, in industry, have to figure out how to increase our revenue survive, if it's going to be difficult out there, and then do the things that are necessary to create that business that is resilient. We go through topics like corporate governance, marketing, sales, Technology, and how all of that works together to help you bring in greater amount of revenue all out there. It does real talk and you know what it is, it's great. That's great, because it's part of the ecosystem. We're here to be able to do what is necessary to make you a success. It sounds so Pollyanna, but we depend on you. That's just the bottom line. All right. As I say all the time, be bold, be brave, dare greatly hang out with people like be shown. And you will be changing the world. We're going to have another great conversation coming from IoT solutions World Congress, and you need to check that one out. I don't know who had said I don't I don't know who's in the queue, but it's gonna be a great one. And then be a part of this ecosystem. Sign up, do what you need to do. We don't water is nice and warm. Thank you once again for your support. We're going to have another great conversation shortly. So stay tuned.
