once again. Welcome to Industrial Talk. Thank you very much for joining the number one industrial related podcast in the universe that celebrates industry professionals all around the world. You are bold, brave, you dare greatly, you innovate, you collaborate, you solve problems, you make the world a better place. Thank you very much for what you do. You we celebrate you on Industrial Talk. We are broadcasting here, IoT solutions, World Congress, Barcelona, Spain, all the cool kids hang out here. You need to put this on your calendar next year. It is a great event, one worthy of traveling. You get to meet and greet just industry trailblazers who are all dedicated to solving your problems. So make sure you put this on your calendar for next year in a hot seat. His name is Marc. He's the head cheese for this particular event. See, yeah, and he is going to just sort of share some insights and thoughts about what's going on. So let's get cracking. How are you doing? I'm
good. It's at the end, yes, finally, yeah, yeah.
You've been, you've been chirping and talking.
We are excited, but we are really, really happy. Yeah, it's, it's, I
gotta tell you, it's been a great event. Yeah,
it has been a great success. So I love the venue.
I love what you've done, everybody on all the feedback that I've received throughout the three days, yes, absolutely positive, absolutely looking forward to next year. Yeah, and, and the the conversations, quite frankly, have been one that that have changed is, you know, even in one year Marc, one year we were talking, we were talking, we were talking, AI, but we were just still, it was sort of theoretical. Now it's like, oh yeah, everybody's doing it. Everybody's got to do it. We got to. It's like, so look, yeah, your fan club,
yeah,
I have fans. You have fan
I'm not sure if they are joking to me, but yes,
oh, they're, they're definitely So what made, what do you think made this particular event, this year an improvement, or what have you sort of focused on this time around?
Well, first of all, let me tell you that we have put a lot of efforts from our side to be more international. I mean, after the two editions that we celebrated post covid, obviously, the event was international, but it was more focused on the EMEA region, because some countries in 2023 they were not allowed to travel internationally yet. So we have put a lot of effort to bring international delegations, from China, from India, from us as well, and from well, from over the world, right? So that's one important point that I wanted to highlight. The second one is that we have changed the program direction this year. So before 2023 we were working with the IIC, and this year, the program direction belongs to the ESA, the International Society of automation. And I think that they have to elaborate a great job for the Congress. So, yeah, we are happy as well.
Oh yeah, I got to tell you. And, and the layout, you know, you we, we sort of look at a conference and, and just experience the level of knowledge. And it really is one of those events where you truly walk away with a greater appreciation or understanding or new knowledge on where you want to go. And that means it translates, from my perspective, into success, into success of business, and that's why it's important to encourage individuals to come to this particular event, because you will, you will benefit. You will walk away better.
Yeah. And this year, we have tried to split the content of the Congress in four different rooms, one room per one of the challenges that we have identified that the companies will need information from so one room was focused on the tech enabled transformation concept. The second one was for solutions focused on climate change and sustainability. So we feel that it's really important to to know how the technology is going to help the companies Achieving the Sustainable goals, up to 2030, the third one. We know that is not a sexy topic, but it's necessary to talk about the standards and regulations and finally, and finally, IoT security and cybersecurity. So I think that that well, it worked very well to try to. Classify the tracks in different rooms and obviously the auditorium with the most important keynotes. But I think that is one of the key of this success as well.
To add to that, everybody talks about being digitally enabled. I'm a manufacturer. I want to have the ability to see what's happening in my organization. That means it's a connected type of strategy. And in that connected type of strategy, I don't think, and I think what's brilliant with this particular event is the connection between all the activity that exists within IoT, the devices, the collection of data and cybersecurity. And I don't think, I think it's you have one side of the coin and the other side of the coin. And I don't think that you you have to have that focus on cyber security if you want to be connected cyber security. And that's expanding, right?
Yeah, yeah, exactly. So we expect that in 2027 or 2030 we will have more than 30 million of devices connected so, so the cyber security makes completely sense, and this is why we have tried to connect the IoT solutions, World Congress with one important track being the cyber security. So it
makes sense, yeah, it's the right thing to do. And I think that that, that from my perspective, separates this out. There's there's the focus on cyber, but this one has that whole Congress area that you can definitely dive into and and get some great insights as well.
Yeah, yeah, for sure. So we have tried to cover and add other disruptive technologies as well in in the program. So obviously, the artificial intelligence is a hype currently, so we are calling i, a i, I O T, something like this. Have you heard about this?
No, I just know a. I was talking to Siemens, and I said, You need to have everything's branded x, so it needs to be AIX,
yes, why not? So, so, so, basically, IoT as a general concept, that's fine, but we have tried to add more technologies on the stage right, digital twin, machine learning, it's computing, etc. And we, well, we want to show what it's possible to do in the industry providing solutions focused on these specific technologies.
Do you get a sense, and this is a leading question, do you get a sense that we're still sort of at the infancy, we're still at the new I mean, things have been around for a little while, but because the technology and the innovation is traveling at such a rapid pace, I still believe we're just not, we're still at the beginning of the benefits associated with what we're talking about here.
Yeah, yeah, correct.
Well, I think, I think just in general, Marc, you guys have done, your team have done a, just a stellar job.
Yeah. I think at one of the keys, one of the key of this success is the amazing thing that we have here, amazing in the IoT solutions World Congress, from the first one to the last one. So they have put a lot of effort to make it possible, from the visitor side, from the commercial side, also from the Marceting so I think that, well, without them, this is not possible, right? So nearly 12 people managing this event,
see, that's just, that's crazy, yes, come on, yeah, yeah, when you
look around and you're going, Wow, all of the little pieces and parts, and they just sort of came together, and they just do and then, and the participants as well as the conference goers. It's, it's a memory, yeah,
yeah. I'm so, so grateful to have this, this team, and it's an honor for me to
work with them. Yeah, you're awesome.
So and thank Thank you. You are part of the team as well. Appreciate that.
What do you recommend people? How do they when are you going to have some information about next year's? And so we can start promoting that.
Well, first of all, we're going to finish this year, but yeah, but for next year, we will do our best again. So we will analyze which are the trends and the technologies that we want to cover and in which is specific verticals. But obviously, if it's possible, we will, I want to add maybe health care And continue talking about sustainability.
Yeah, that's a good one. Yeah, yeah. People are talking about health care, yeah. We will see. Yeah, we'll see. Thank you so much. Wonderful. All
